Pizza was amazing!! Susan was awesome she talked a lot with us and we also spoke with one of the brewers. Lovely brewery spot. Wonderful people who love what they do!!
Stopped here on a Friday around 4:30pm and had some descent Pizza, Great Fried Pickles, wings were Dry Rub with several Sauces! Pizza Crust could have been charred some or done a little more but great flavor! Quite a few beers on tap homebrews that were made there. IPA a little on the sour side APA not bad. Their lagger had a different taste, but the wheat and the Marsan were really good. Service was top-notch great people behind the counters and we were served pretty quickly.
Just stopped in yesterday for dinner with four kids, 3 toddlers and 1 teen. The service was amazing and the food was excellent!! They had live music which was a little loud but had our kids dancing so they had a blast. The craft soda was so good we have to some to go! We will be back on our next visit to Oak Island!
Two friends and I came to Solar Brewing while on vacation in Oak Island and were greeted with spectacular service, beer, and food! We got the pesto margherita pizza which was the chef's special that day, as well as the pesto pinwheels. I am serious about my pizza, and believe me when I tell you that was some of the best pizza I've ever had, which is always a welcome surprise. All of that on top of the delicious variety of beers we got, (which ranged from their sour fruited types to ambers) led to a wonderful experience. Amy was our bartender/server who went above and beyond to take care of us and provided a very lovely conversation as well as the owner walking us through his pizza dough process! Check it out!
My wife and I visited this establishment for the first time on June 10th, 2025! We absolutely loved it! The service, beer and the owner who was chatting with us was amazing!! We would love to give a shout out to Leah and Chris for there outstanding Customer Service etiquette. A huge shout out to Mike the owner for explaining how the place came to be and the history of his love for craft Beer. My wife Robin and I felt like family by the time we left. We highly recommend everyone who visits Oak Island to stop by Solar Brewing! Great place and people as well. Tell them Mike and Robin sent you.
Excellent place to grab pizza, and a great selection of brews for all tastes. I highly recommend this place whether you are single looking for a good brew and a bite to eat or a family looking for a good place to beat the heat with something cold to drink. Wait staff and bar tenders are always top notch, super friendly and personable. Drinks are great with a wide selection to choose from and they allow you to taste before ordering if your unsure how youll like it. Food is flat out amazing best pizza on the island and their pizza pin wheels are to die for. This place is a staple in our must visit spots every time we come down and you should make it yours too.
Had a wonderful dinner and beers here. All their beers on tap are brewed in house; had two very different and very delicious drinks (the Marzennial and the Winter of '89) and the buffalo chicken sub. All were excellent - didn't even have time to snap a shot of the sub, it disappeared too quickly. Cousin got the Solar Pizza and thoroughly enjoyed it. Only possible complaint is their menu is a little limited, but what they do have is crazy tasty. Beer selection is as great as it is varied. Lighter pilsners to dark stouts to IPAs to a killer ginger beer: if you can't find something to enjoy here, you're not gonna find a drink anyway. Staff are super nice, too. They know their beers and can make great recommendations, and they handled my party's nonsense with our tabs (all our own fault, nothing to do with the staff at all) with cool professionalism. They're a young shop and I really hope to see them grow in the coming years. Fingers crossed, I'll see their cans on my local shelf before too long!
We have been a few times. We tried the fried pickles this time and they were great. My son loves their wings and I tried the Buffalo chicken sub. We ate most of the fried pickles before I took the photo.
